“Presence" commands attention and challenges the viewer with its bold assertion of visibility and being. The subject, a poised female figure, stands regally against a backdrop of burnt orange, her gaze direct and unapologetic.
Adorned in a green dress that symbolizes growth, vitality, and the richness of life, she embodies the essence of self-assurance and the audacity to simply be.
“Presence” was created during a season of wrestling with imposter syndrome. After an 8-year hiatus from creative work, I found myself questioning if what I had to offer was enough, and if this time, pursuing my dream would truly be different. I think we all face these moments of self-doubt at some point.
The woman in "Presence" has a steady, confident gaze, embodying the truth that simply showing up and contributing is more important than appearing 'perfect.' Unlike success or failure, contribution stands on its own, free from comparison. There’s something incredibly liberating about that—realizing that it’s not about having everything together or saying the perfect thing, but about offering your unique piece to the puzzle.
